smooth

Clean tune man, this is really good. The bass sounds too distorded, especially for this song. But I reckon you will have that fixed when the track's finished.

DomesticTerrorist responds:

Yeah, the bass is a constant process of trial and error haha

I can see why you dig this.

But it's more something like dubstep. Not really violent, no.
Still, it's bad ass. I like.

Murderist responds:

Thanks man.

That was goddamn dark.
Try throwing in some effects though. And let the drums run fluently at some point, then switch back to the drum patterns your using here. That gives a good touch of variation.
Try checking out my stuff aswell :3

you know what you're doing XD

this is really good man. The bass you got going here is pretty damn awesome.
The lead isn't really something I would do but all together this sounds really, really good. Keep it up man.

Ethalyn responds:

really glad you liked it:D and well, all just a matter of taste, but man thanks for the 9:D!

Nutella is awesome alright.

And I'm pretty sure, when the tempo is 170-180 and having the drums sound like these here.. It's drum and bass.
I mean. I hear drums. I hear bass. There's some way to make DnB sound typical but I think it should stay original, like this here.
Other than that.
The lead beep thing could use some reverb IMO. But I think as a whole this is a pretty good song.
Check out my stuff pretty please. I'm trying to get some DnB tunes goin aswell.

Ranyb responds:

I know what you mean with the reverb, and I tried to put some in the middle part, where all the drums cut out, but I couldn't figure out how to, and since I couldn't go back to it later, I just called it good.

Thanks for the review, I will check out your stuff as well! :D

nice tune

you're right, the lead guitar could've sounded better. I think you should've made the drums harder any way. Barely hear 'em.
But as a whole. Nice tune man.

Mataro responds:

Definitely. I actually tried to go back and fix those issues before submitting it, but it proved to be more hassle than it was worth. Anything I did messed up the song as a whole. So I just left it as is and decided I'd do better next time anyway, and that would be that. Glad to hear you liked it, though, and thanks for the review and critique. :D

yeah..

Trippy, I loved it man.
Then again, the sound you added at 0.48, didn't seem to fit in to the song, you might want to cut that out.
I also didn't really expect that kind of bassdrum to kick in at 1.10. Ace.
If you like DnB can you check out some of my songs? I'm pretty new to makin music, I could use some tips man.

jij bent vast nederlands

tijnn responds:

Hehe yeah, breakcore he. xD die drums op 1:05 zijn inderdaad echt heilig, stampend hard ;D thanks for the review!

hey

yeah i've been goin' thru your tracks here, and this one is not one of my favorites, has got an awesome drum kit to it tho. and the synth that kicks in at 2:00's nice aswell
other than that i've recently started tryin' to compose dnb tracks, usin' reason for that, altho it feels like im watching a Czech tv channel, if you got any tips for me? kthxbai

boney-man responds:

Um, from what I've learned by listening to a lot of DnB, you need to have a solid lead (usually a reese), heavy drums (in most cases), and you need to throw in effects sometimes. You also need to just stop everything and let the drums take over at some points. In this, My lead was that reese, I had heavy drums, and that indian-sounding thing was my effect. However, I still need to add more instruments without totally destroying the DnB. That's the hard part. I'm workin' on it :D

Thanks for the review.

2009 edit: lol, those "tips" are hilarious. a reese as a lead lol. letting the drums just take over at points lol.
